January 2025 came as a blur! Taking down all the Christmas and New Years’ stuff, putting away gifts, returning to “normal” - - at least for those of us that put off all the packing and stacking until after January 1. How many New Year Resolutions did you make? How many are still in progress thirty-one days later? We all have great intentions and SOME of YOU are great at following through! Congrats on any and all progress!
I had the pleasure of visiting the Cedar Creek Lake Rotary Club to share a program on Public Image at the Club Level and how it directly impacts Membership, Sponsorships, Club Health, and Community Engagement. Public Image is more than just branding—it’s about effectively telling your club’s story, attracting new members, and securing support for your projects.
Congratulations to Silfida D. Gomez-Coleman, 2021-2023 Past President of the Texarkana International Rotary Club, who has been selected by the District 5830 Nominating Committee as District Governor Nominee Designate. She has been selected to serve as D-5830 District Governor during the 2027-2028 Rotary Year.
An exciting night of awards, food, fun and engaging speakers was enjoyed by approximately 180 District 5830Rotarians and guests this past Saturday at the wonderful Hollytree Country Club in Tyler, Texas! Host Clubs were The Tyler Rotary Club, South Tyler Rotary Club and Longview Rotary Club. The clubs worked together to create a beautiful, decorated venue in which to celebrate the Rotary Clubs' achievements in 2023-2024.
The District 5830 Legacy Campaign- "What's your Rotary Legacy?", is full steam ahead! There have been multiple club presentations and conversations regarding how you can leave a lasting legacy that will help make a difference. Rotarians all across 5830 are stepping forward and determining how they can make, either an outright gift or a bequest that will change lives of the most needy. I encourage every Rotarian, young and not so young, to ask yourself the question above and decide what your answer will be. Please remember to consider taking advantage of year end gifts that can be a tax benefit to you. We are fast approaching the halfway mark of reaching our goal of exceeding One Million Dollars in outright or committed gifts! A big, "Thank You'" to all who have already made the step to support our Legacy Campaign!
