DID you see that train? During the 2023-2024 Rotary year, immediate PDG Karen Maines utilized the Rotary International Theme: “Create Hope in the World” to energize and grow the vision of Rotary in District 5830. Last month, Karen asked “are we there yet”?? We can all agree that we aren’t “there yet”, but we are so much closer because of the leadership of Karen, the District 5830 Assistant Governors, District Administrator Shirley Pinnix-Evans, and the many Rotarians of our district. MANY THANKS to Karen and her team!
A deer in the headlights. I’m sure that was exactly the impression I gave at my first couple of club events a year ago, but, I was greeted by so many friendly faces that I quickly began looking forward to every trip. Did you know that every club in our District has its own unique personality? Some of y’all are quirky; some, all business; and most are just going to have fun at everything you do.
Rotarians, We are launched into a New Rotary Year under new leadership of DG Jeff Johnston and these next few weeks will be a time to Celebrate our Successes under IPDG Karen Maines as well as Commit to continued momentum under DG Jeff.
Your 2024-25 Club Project Grant proposals are in and approved and the closing reports from last year are awaiting Rotary Foundation final review. Thanks go to PDG John Jetter for his dedication to The Rotary Foundation.
First, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude for all the efforts this past year to learn, promote, and become more Rotary Brand Compliant! Clubs have done an amazing job, but we aren’t done yet! I am excited to introduce a new initiative for Rotary District 5830 during Jeff Johnston's year as District Governor - achieving 100% Brand Compliance!
