DG Jeff Johnston's March 2025 Newsletter
2025 - - TWO Months Down!  February 2025 - - - shortest month of the year and also the FASTEST for District 5830.   Did everyone remember to BUY that valentine?    A card?  Candy?   The full deal with Card, Candy, and Flowers? ?     As Rotarians we are so, so blessed and with the “service above self” focus, Valentine’s Day was a great way to prove our “worth” to family, friends, and other Rotarians!

January was “Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention Month”.   With the 2025 USA Political changes - - - whether GOOD or BAD, it still a time for change and HOPEFULLY, we have started 2025 with a renewed focus on BUILDING PEACE and RESOLVING CONFLICT!

Your District Team has just returned from LoneStar PETS. It was incredible! PDG Carolyn Franks did a superb job of emceeing the Saturday Dinner and will be Operating Chair in 2026.  DGE Damon Donnell did an excellent job of leading us and introducing 2025-2026 initiatives and goals and DG Jeff Johnston, DGN Diane Kavanaugh, PDG Mike Groom, Trudy Williams, Landon Forbes, Pamela Walters, and I enjoyed working with our Presidents Elect and introducing and facilitating the learning modules. DA Shirley Pinnix-Evans kept us on track.

DGE Damon Donnell Recap of 2025 Lone Star PETS
Celebrating the Success of Lone Star PETS in DFW, Dear Rotary District 5830 Rotarians,
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this Lone Star Presidents-Elect Training Seminar (LS PETS) in Dallas-Fort Worth an outstanding success. The 4-day event was held from February 27th – March 2nd at the DFW Hyatt Regency Hotel. There were over 600 Rotarians that attended the event! From informative sessions to inspiring conversations, our time together has prepared us to lead with renewed energy, purpose, and camaraderie in the upcoming Rotary year. If you are an incoming President Elect (PE) or President Nominee (PN) for your club and were unable to make it to LS PETS, I encourage you to attend our District Local PETS at the Mt. Pleasant Country Club on April 5, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Legacy Campaign
The District 5830 Legacy Campaign- "What's your Rotary Legacy?", is full steam ahead! There have been multiple club presentations and conversations regarding how you can leave a lasting legacy that will help make a difference. Rotarians all across 5830 are stepping forward and determining how they can make, either an outright gift or a bequest that will change lives of the most needy. I encourage every Rotarian, young and not so young, to ask yourself the question above and decide what your answer will be.
