DG Carolyn Franks' November Newsletter
November is the month we focus on The Rotary Foundation. Our foundation has continually received Charity Navigator’s Four-Star rating, which is its highest rating. Since Arch Klump came up with the idea in 1917 of setting up an endowment that began with a $26.50 donation. It has grown to more than $1.5 billion with a goal of assets and commitments for future gifts to total $2.025 billion by 2025.
November is The Rotary Foundation Month
For as little as 60 cents, a child can be protected from polio.
$50 can provide clean water to help fight waterborne illness.
$500 can launch an antibullying campaign and create a safe environment for children
2021-2022 District 5830 Conference
Andrea and I wanted to take a few moments to thank Henry Moy, Vickie Smith, and Stephen Ratcliff with the Museum of the Red River along with the members of Idabel Rotary Club for all their work making the conference run smoothly.  A special “Thanks” goes to the 2021-2022 District 5830 Conference Committee for assistance in planning the event.  The museum is a hidden gem and I encourage you to visit it if you have not toured the museum.   It was very disappointing to us that COVID hit our family and we were not able to attend but we left it in good hands with the Event Committee and District Leadership Team.
Meet Kathryn Montgomery
“Rotary International District 5830 values the unique differences among our leaders and membership and we have a commitment to promoting a welcoming and inclusive culture within the clubs across our district.  We believe that our shared commitment to service in an inclusive environment fosters collegiality, advances our central mission, and reinforces the principles conveyed in the 4-Way Test.”
Observations from 4 months as your DRFC
It is a pleasure to serve 5830, DG Carolyn Franks and each of your Clubs.
Coming into this position after all (or most of all) the Final Reports from last year’s District Grant Projects were received from 5830 Clubs required our team to scramble a bit as some reports were not signed, a few had information left off the final reports, and some had unused funds not yet returned to the District.
