Angela and I recently had the opportunity to travel to Kenya for a two week trip that combined multiple service opportunities with also touring with local Rotarians to identify potential projects. These projects are wide ranging in size, but each one will be extremely impactful in the lives of some very needy families. The people we met were very warm and friendly. They were grateful for our coming to visit and talk about the needs they have. Kenya is about half the size of Texas, but has roughly twice as many people.
Still, agriculture is a large part of the economy. There is a high unemployment rate with most people working as day laborers. Food insecurity is a major problem. I would love to come to your club and share about my trip and let you hear about potential service projects. Please email me at tedhuffhines@gmail.com
