“Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.”  We sing this as we close some of our Rotary meetings. It always makes me feel good, but then I don’t think about it after we leave the meeting. Let’s make this our challenge to ourselves and to our Rotary Clubs. Rotary’s focus for February is peacebuilding.
By carrying out service projects in all of Rotary’s areas of focus our members are taking action to address the underlying causes of conflict, including poverty, discrimination, ethnic tension, lack of access to education, and unequal distribution of resources. Conflicts are happening in our local communities as well as across the globe. We are very much aware of the war in the Ukraine and Rotarians have stepped up to provide support. District 5830 has also supported peace scholars. If you are aware of someone who has an interest in this, our district leaders would like to know about them.

Please continue to support the Rotary Foundation with your gifts. If you haven’t joined the PolioPlus Society with your annual pledge of $100, now is the time!
Thank you for all you do to make the world a more peaceful place to live!
