Time is flying - - - I have now served ELEVEN MONTHS as your District Governor! Time is passing fast, but we are getting a lot done! During the past eleven months, we have continued to emphasize Rotary International President, Stephanie A. Urchick, challenge for ALL Rotary Zones to grow by FOUR CLUBS and have a net gain of 100 Rotarians during her calendar year of 2024-2025. With ONE month to go, we have TWO new Rotary Clubs in place and TWO MORE in the pipeline! ! We have increased membership from about 1350 to about 1470 Rotarians - - - great job by ALL of OUR CLUBS!
June 2025 is Rotary Fellowships Month! What is a Rotary Fellowship? Simply stated, Rotary Fellowships are international groups that share a common passion. Being part of a fellowship is a FUN WAY to make friends around the world, explore a hobby or profession, and enhance your Rotary experience. Let me encourage you to go on-line to “myrotary.org” to learn more about Rotary Fellowships!
Rotarians make a difference - - - in our local communities, at work, across the nation, and around the world! Several years ago, Rotary International adopted a motto of “service above self”, which has become a way of life for Rotarians around the world. In our daily lives, we Rotarians face many opportunities to exhibit the “service above self” in decision making, work practices, community functions, and even our family activities.
Let ALL Rotarians continue to LIVE and THRIVE by the Rotary Four Way Test, which encourages us by asking.
Of the things we think, say, or do:
- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
As we move into the final stretch of 2024-2025, I continue to extend my year-long PERSONAL CHALLENGE to each club:
- Expand Rotary locally and internationally
- Increase your Service to Others
- Leave a Lasting Legacy

The 2025 Rotary International Convention Calgary, Canada is only weeks away - - - June 21-25, 2025. District 5830 has over twenty Rotarians and guests enrolled for the 2025 event. Next month, I hope to share the many lessons we learn and stories we hear from Rotarians around the world.
