Hi Y'all! It's May and we're all looking forward to a new Rotary Year and new opportunities for service. But wait! We've got to finish this year first and we're behind.

"District 5830 is ... behind its historical norms in both total annual fund giving and per capita giving. [The District] had an exceptional 24-25 year, and 5830's 25-26 annual fund results so far are close to and will likely exceed its historical annual fund norms. The endowment fund giving is well ahead of 5830's historical norms. 5830 has also increased membership." That's not my analysis but that of ARRFC Bob Dill from Oklahoma who monitors 5830, 5770, and 5750.

So, what can each of us do? It's past time to sign up for Rotary Direct. I mean it should have been done last September, but if not, now works; just do it today. It's painless and the donations can be spread out and linked to your credit card. If you do not designate a Rotary Foundation Fund your contributions go to Annual Fund-Share and your Club will benefit by Club Project Grant Funds in 3 years. Either I or District Grants Subcommittee Chair Jack Welge can help you with this if you run into problems. He (and Ava) and I all have Rotary Direct in place.

Next, PolioPlus still needs your support. It counts toward Major Donor status and can also receive your donations through Rotary Direct.

Then, if you're over 73 and have not met your Required Minimum Distributions from your IRA (RMD), send some to The Rotary Foundation (TRF). It'sa 501(c)(3); TRF has the highest rating given by Charity Navigator and has maintained that rating for the last 17 years. Your Charitable Donation does need to meet certain requirements, so do check with your CPA or a Rotary Gifts Coordinator for help.

Lastly, don't forget Tom DeWitts' Matching Points Campaign where you can get your first Paul Harris or your next Paul Harris+ . It only requires a donation and notice to Tom DeWitt (thdewitt@msn.com) or Lee Montgomery (d5830leem1617@gmail.com) or Roy Shockey (roy.mineola.rotary@gmail.com) who are also helping with the campaign.

See y'all soon at Rotary!
