Has Fall Weather Finally Started? During the 2026 Rotary International Convention in Taipei, a multi-year challenge was issued for all Global Rotarian clubs and members.
1.25 Million Rotarians with 125,000 Rotaractors
by the 125th Anniversary of Rotary in 2030
District 5830 Rotary Clubs are joining ALL the clubs in Rotary Zones 30/31 and the entire Global Rotary Clubs to focus on three primary areas:
- Membership Engagement (and RETENTION)
- Membership Attraction
- New Club Development
With FIVE months under our belts in the 2026-2027 Rotary year, District 5830 Rotary clubs have demonstrated a “can do” effort in growing our club membership while focusing on the three stated Membership Areas. Many clubs have added multiple members and others have prospects “in the pipeline”. Our clubs have shown extremely high “retention numbers” for Club Membership - - - during the next few months, we MUST WORK HARD to keep our members engaged and active.
The Dynamic D5830 Membership Support Team, which was announced at our July District Training/Workshop, includes:
Landon Forbes - Past Asst Governor
Terri Deike - Past Rotary Club President
Clint Henderson - Past Rotary Club President
Skip Fritz - Past Rotary Club Officer
PDG Jeff Johnston – District Membership Chair
Over the next several months, our Membership Support Team will reach out to the D5830 Club Membership Directors to encourage continued focus on Greeting, Visitor Follow-up, Membership Drives, and tools used to increase membership retention.
I once again encourage all clubs to remember the motto we rolled out several years ago - - - regardless of club size and historical efforts:
Start where you are!
Use what you have!
Do what you can!
Thanks for allowing me to SERVE as the D5830 Membership Director for 2026-2027
Jeff W Johnston
