Rotarians, this column for April is on Leadership.

Our District 5830 has sent trainers, mediators, and participants to LoneStar PETS,  we are hosting a Local or makeup PETS this weekend in Mt. Pleasant, we have held a very successful Foundation Dinner in Tyler, completed RYLA and will shortly have the 4-Way Speech Contest as well as our first Legacy Dinner that Ted Huffhines and his committee have fully subscribed with local, caring Rotarians. Later this Spring will have the District Training Assembly. That list does not include events held on the club level or the good both our Clubs and the District perform in our communities and in the world.
These events do not just happen.  They require forethought and management and Leadership and that essential ingredient that drew us all to Rotary.  We want to do it differently and do it better.

As you look forward to the 2025-2026 Rotary Year, have you already started planning?  Do you have your teams in place?  Have you reviewed your Club Grants (CPGs) and closed those that have been completed? Do you have a task meeting schedule of when you will hold each other accountable? Most importantly, have you set goals and reached out to other clubs in competition on your goals and have you planned to exceed the requirements to be a Citation Club?

The point is don’t just repeat past years.  Do it better. Plan.  Do what it takes. And we’ll see you on the podium for awards at the installation dinner.
