Are you a Business or Professional leader in your community, seeking to make a difference in the world around you?

Rotarians are passionate people driven by the ideal of service. As a part of Rotary, you get to network with and give back to communities around the globe. District 5830 is made up of 42 clubs and approximately 1400 members across NE Texas, SE Oklahoma, and SW Arkansas.
MARCH has been a very fast month!     With NINE months under “my belt” since taking office on July 1, I’m officially THREE QUARTERS through with my District Governor 2024-2025 year of service - - a lot has happened in NINE months and I’m honored to serve as District 5830 Governor!       Our forty-one clubs have grown by two with the addition of a) The Tyler Food Bank Rotary Club and b) the “East Henderson companion club”; which is sponsored by/supported by the Rotary Club of Athens.      We are still counting the NEW MEMBERS included in these new clubs as well as the additions experienced in many of our District 5830 Clubs - - we definitely are on track to achieve our Rotary International “Presidential Challenge” of adding at least 100 new members during 2024-2025!
On Friday evening, April 25, 2025, at Holly Tree Country Club in Tyler, 48 contributors joined together to celebrate the successful Legacy Campaign held by District 5830 Rotarians. The evening opened with an enjoyable hospitality hour with entertaining piano music and lots of great conversation as Rotarians from all across Northeast Texas came together to celebrate. There was a continuous slide show with a wide variety of both local and international projects that have been supported by our clubs. There was another slide show that thanked each donor for their donation or commitment to The Rotary Foundation. DG Jeff Johnston welcomed everyone to get the party started.
Rotarians, this column for April is on Leadership.

Our District 5830 has sent trainers, mediators, and participants to LoneStar PETS,  we are hosting a Local or makeup PETS this weekend in Mt. Pleasant, we have held a very successful Foundation Dinner in Tyler, completed RYLA and will shortly have the 4-Way Speech Contest as well as our first Legacy Dinner that Ted Huffhines and his committee have fully subscribed with local, caring Rotarians. Later this Spring will have the District Training Assembly. That list does not include events held on the club level or the good both our Clubs and the District perform in our communities and in the world.
