Jo Ann Parkman of the Paris United Rotary Club was Governor of District 5830 for the years 2001-2002. Jo Ann has had an active role in District 5830 for a number of years. She is past president of the Paris Rotary Club and has held chairman-ships on several civic service boards including St. Joseph's Hospital of Paris.
Jo Ann lives in Paris, Texas and has three sons, seven grandchildren, and a dog Honey. She is an active member of the Oak Park United Methodist Church, where Jo Ann is the Lay Delegate to the their Annual Conference. She is also Chairman of the Board of the St. Joseph's Hospital & Health Center, as well as President of the NetseO Trails Boy Scouts of America Council. Jo Ann retired from TU Electric November 1997. Her career spanned 30 years, starting as a Home Service Advisor, and ending as District Manager. She has been a Rotarian since 1988 when she joined the Rotary Club of Grapevine and eventually became a director. She is now a member of the Rotary Club of Paris where she was chosen as their first female president in 1997. She went to The International Convention in Glasgow, and was named one of the outstanding presidents of 1996-97.
