Dallas native Lee Montgomery graduated Lancaster High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Midwestern University in Wichita Falls. He was commissioned as a US Army Field Artillery officer and served six years in various European and stateside assignments. While on active duty, he studied Human Relations at the University of Oklahoma. He also earned his insurance and securities licenses and immediately began working in financial services upon separation from the service in 1976. Today Lee lives with his wife Debbie in Tyler, Texas. They have six children and eight grandchildren.
Lee credits his Rotary membership to an invitation from Ronnie Davis to join the Rotary Club of Cedar Creek Lake in 2003. He served that club as club treasurer and president from 2007-08. He served District 5830 as assistant governor from 2008-2012, and twice as a Lone Star PETS Ranger.  Lee moved to Tyler in 2013 and transferred his membership to the Rotary Club of South Tyler that year. Lee and Debbie are Paul Harris Fellows. Lee is a Sustaining Member of The Rotary Foundation, as well as a member of the Bequest Society and the Paul Harris Society.  Lee currently serves as District 5830’s District Governor Elect.
