We have entered our new year and all the challenges facing our world seem so daunting.  I find solitude in the fact that every day as Rotarians we Unite for Good  and find ways to change the lives of those around us.

As your District Peace Chair I wanted to let you know I have done a few programs at other clubs regarding the Peace Pole Project  that our District is embracing.  This is a very worthy and meaningful project for a club to consider.  It's a low cost yet highly impactful project.  We have 3 clubs undertaking erecting a Peace Pole in their community.  By the end of this year we will have at least 5 to 7 new Peace Poles.

This project is one that focuses on building Peace through friendship and community collaboration. I am happy to visit your club either in person or via Zoom to share this project with you as a speaker.  By erecting one pole in each community we serve,  gives us an opportunity to involve our local Interact and Rotaract Clubs alongside our club members.    There are Peace Poles all over the world and as you travel we all seem to look for where a local Rotary meeting might be and attend it.   I have stumbled across a number of these poles in my travels by asking those clubs I visit if they have one.

I am also seeking club members who might be interested in being on the District Peace Committee with this project being our focus.  Please reach out to me at tammyhaas60@gmail.com or call me at 360-907-6991 to visit with me.

How great would it be if we could accomplish the goal of every club doing a Peace Pole by July 1, 2027.  We just might land a D5830 story in the Rotary Magazine.

I have included a photo of what a Peace Pole looks like.

May Peace Prevail On Earth though us as Rotarians!

Thank you,
